This short course is designed to help therapists better understand the rich and constantly evolving world of gender, sexual, and relationship diversity, as well as their own values and beliefs around these areas.
Historically, training on human sexuality has focussed on issues specific to LGBTQ+ clients, however, this position is neither adequately inclusive nor truly representative of the diversity of gender, sexual, and relationship types which may present in the modern therapeutic encounter. The course aims to bridge this gap and plant seeds for further exploration.
The two days will be underpinned by a spirit of curiosity and openness, with the recognition that within this learning may also come the need to ‘un-learn’ or challenge some established beliefs and assumptions.
